Exploring Guam's Coast Line
Updated: Apr 24, 2021
One of the out door activity I enjoy while in Guam is exploring Guam's Coral Reef. It is a beautiful sighting and a great experience to walk to along the side of the reef. Along side, there are many swim holes and when the currents strong and tide is high, I like to just sit in the swim holes and let the waves hit me. Although, it may be quite dangerous to get caught in the impact and injure your self, so you must be extra careful and be aware of your surroundings.
Sightings shown above is the reef side of Ague cove. We took a hike for about 30-45 minutes to get to Ague cove then we swam for a little bit to get to the reef. You Must be aware of the water current status because it could be quite a bit rough trying to swim to the reef. The perfect timing to swim to the reef is when the current is calm.
Inarajan
Located behind of Inarajan Pools is a beautiful place to just chill, watch the impacts of the waves and go fishing. To get here, on the left side of Inarajan pool, we swam just a little bit to get to the back of the pool and walked straight to the reef. It's an easy path to follow, just be extra careful with the sharp corals.
Tagachang Beach, Yona
The Coastline of Tagachang Beach was probably the most challenging experience I've ever had. The very first time I visited this place, the tide was really high and I wasn't sure where the path was to get to the reef. Finally, the Second time I came back, we got to the reef but the water current was strong and it was a high tide. That didn't stop us from exploring the area. We continued along the reef to see how far we could go, but a huge wave hit us out of nowhere. I ended up getting washed to a huge rock, later did I noticed there was a little cave above me so I climbed to it for safety. We ended up staying in the cave until the current weren't as strong as it was. It was a crazy but fun experience. The view and sounds of the waves was relaxing.
A week later, we decided to come back and tried to get to our destination. We arrived earlier than last time. The current was a lot better to explore the area. So I suggest to go to this place early in the morning. We were able to get a little further than last time. Unfortunately, we didn't get to the place we wanted to jump off too to swim due to the tide being high. Overall, the landscape was breath taking and it was such a perfect day to end the weekend. Remember to wear appropriate footwear and be a ware of the huge waves and little holes on the ground while you walk along the reef.
